Workshop Feedback 2011

Since my involvement in the Tournament of Minds Programme, I have been consistently amazed at the myriad of ways (often unexpected) that my students have responded both personally, and as a team, to the various challenges. In 2010, it seemed the emphasis for one team was on communication and negotiation, with students having to discover the best ways to overcome personal differences in order to produce excellent results.  For another team, armed with the motto: “If in doubt, sing”, perseverance and patience were key elements to their wonderful success. For our third team, compassion and care were central to a dramatic performance of great flair, underpinned by kindness. Though some may consider the final outcome, as measured by the judges at the finals, the most important indicator of success; for my students the experience has, in every instance, led to immeasurable personal growth and an enhancement of school spirit regardless of their final placing. I am, therefore, most grateful to the State Committee who voluntarily give of their time and expertise to our students. Tournament of Minds offers our young, creative thinkers both inspiration and a great deal of excitement!

Thanks again for the workshop today, it was absolutely brilliant and the kids, Jackie and I have left feeling thoroughly inspired! I will get the registration happening asap as we can't wait and don't want to lose any momentum.
Thanks again!
